I love my dog. I get teased often, about how much I love my dog. His name is Rico and he's a Havanese. I talk to him all the time as if he were human, for in my eyes, he is. I explain things to him, tease him, joke around with him, ask him why he needs to go outside a hundred times a day, and talk about my book plots with him.
I love that he always agrees with me - LOL. I love that he always wags his tail and is game for any adventure going. I love that he's smart and loves doing tricks.
Most of all, I love that he lays at my feet when I write on my laptop.
I sit on a couch when I write, laptop in place, and dream dreams of stories as my fingers struggle to get all my thoughts down.
Rico grounds me. He brings me back to reality, especially when it's feeding time.
He is my BFF - best fur friend forever.
So today I salute my dog.
Rico - I love you.
