Hello!
I'm halfway through a new work in progress - my eighth Samantha Barclay novel, entitled The Cookie Club. I love being back in her world in Paxton, West Virginia.
Paxton is actually a fictional town.
Many people ask me why my books take place in West Virginia, especially since I am a Canadian.
All I can say is that I love West Virginia and my first novel was conceived there, while camping. Every morning I'd go for a jog and for some reason this story came to me - the plot, murderer and everything. So I created a small town, situated in this beautiful country, although I do bring Sam to Canada every now and then.
And I just love writing a new mystery. I love creating characters and scenarios and going where they want to go, all the while, following my heart, as I wind myself through the story.
I also love to write about real issues - such as suicide, eating disorders, abuse - both emotional and physical - and addiction.
Just thought I'd share my joy of writing a new book.
Thanks for listening.
