THE JOY OF BOOKS!!!

Good morning!

I am cuddled up on my couch, cup of coffee in one hand, a good book in my other.

Ahhhhh... total bliss.

Books have always been my saving grace and my first love. My mother claimed that I taught myself to read as a wee child before I even attended school. I don't remember that, but I do remember my grade one teacher supplying me with an endless array of books. She would assign us one story in our reader to read. I'd go home and read the whole book, so she gave me stacks of books to help satisfy my love of reading. I just couldn't get enough.

Books were my solace, especially when my mother became ill and was sick for years. I could curl up with a good book and it was a well-needed respite from reality, often sad, shadowed by the illness of a loved one.

I read voraciously - often 5-10 books a week.

And then I branched into writing.

And that is what I hope my books are to others - a chance to escape, to be a solace, a good place to be, a respite for even a few minutes from the sometimes harsh realities of life. A chance to catch your breath, to calm you down, to feel moments of peace and joy.

I write from the heart at all times and I my hope is that my heart will touch yours.

Thank you for listening.

Suzanne
