Hello!
I've had several people email me, asking about Rico's progress as he learns to adapt to apartment living, after being in a large house in the country for seven years.
He's doing awesome!!!!!
Considering I was wondering if I could ever leave him alone without him barking up a storm, I can now leave him alone and he's content as can be. He can sit and watch people, dogs and cats stroll by our balcony - he doesn't even react. In fact, he wags his tail.
Rico has gone from barking in the halls - to running up to the tenants wagging his tail, wanting a pat on the head. When walking by a porch full of people or a lobby-full, he will run up to them wagging his tail, like they're his best friends.
If I didn't witness this, I wouldn't have believed it.
Oh, and he is learning to swim in a pool, which requires a lot of work. He had to learn how to enter by the stairs, swim, then exit by the stairs. In ten minutes, he was swimming like a pro. Once again, I wouldn't have believed it.
So Rico has grown in leaps and bounds and once again demonstrates the power of love. I love him, he loves me and together we are making this work.
Thank goodness.
Oh, here's a picture of Rico learning to swim in the pool. :)
